Where Athleticism

Meets Academics

Learn how science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M.) show up in athleticism and everyday life.

WHAT IS

S.T.E.A.M.

Science = how things work

Technology = tools we use

Engineering = building AND fixing

Art = creative expression

Math = patterns and measurement

HOW S.T.E.A.M CONNECTS TO ATHLETICISM

Athletes use STEAM every day.

  • Science = How the body moves

  • Technology = Performance tracking

  • Engineering = Equipment design

  • Arts = Creativity and strategy

  • Math = Speed, distance, angles, and scoring

STEAM and athletics go hand in hand—every workout uses science to understand the body, technology to track progress, engineering to improve performance, creativity to solve challenges, and math to measure results.

The

PROBLEM

Young athletes don't realize that S.T.E.A.M. education can improve performance, open up career paths, and even make classes more exciting, so there's a need to change their view on how education connects with their athletic goals.

The

solution

Establish a S.T.E.A.M.-based sports program that teaches STEAM in ways that relate to sports, connect young athletes with role models who value education, and make cool S.T.E.A.M.-based sports projects, that’ll allow young students to increase their knowledge, boost their game and consider a variety of career options.

An innovative ONLINE program tailored to educate and train young athletes by seamlessly merging S.T.E.A.M. learning with expert athlete coaching.

ABOUT

Coach Freeman

30+ year COACH & ATHLETE WHO’S passionate about ATHLETICISM + ACADEMICS

Coach Freeman is a BMX World Champion, Masters Cycling Champion, Inglewood Hall of Fame athlete, coach, and educator who has spent more than 30 years helping people understand how sports can teach lessons far beyond the game.

Born and raised in Inglewood, Coach Freeman developed the S.T.E.A.M. Athleticism program to show students how science, technology, engineering, art, and math come to life through movement, sports, and competition. From understanding how the body works and tracking performance data to solving problems, building confidence, and developing strategy, students learn that every athlete uses S.T.E.A.M. every day.

Drawing from decades of experience as an athlete, coach, and mentor, Coach Freeman combines sports, fitness, and real-world learning to help students strengthen their minds, bodies, and problem-solving skills. His philosophy is simple: every athlete is a scientist, creator, engineer, and leader in training.

Through S.T.E.A.M. Athleticism, students don't just learn about sports—they learn how to think critically, overcome challenges, and apply what they learn both on and off the field.
